SoL Challenge Day #6

Today I took a personal day, my first one of the year.

I almost didn't. I felt guilty as I wrote the lesson plans on Friday, and as I locked my classroom door on the way out.

I'm glad I did though.

I woke up at 9, made coffee, and watched John Oliver.

My lunch consisted of chocolate chip muffin batter and more coffee.

After a trip to the grocery store, I sat down and went through my lesson plans, responded to student emails, and took a nap with the windows open.

Tonight I am showered, groomed, and on my way to get curry with close friends.

I feel calm, collected, and ready for tomorrow.

  5. You took the mondayness out of Monday. According to the Urban Dictionary, "mondayness" is "when everything seems to be going wrong, like on a Monday!"

Since I'm retired, there are either no Mondays or every day is a Monday. Some days, not necessarily on a Monday, still feel like Mondays.

  7. "I took a nap with the windows open" I loved this line. I can feel the freshness of the air. Great slice and well done taking a rest when you needed it, your students will love you for it!
